Pokerstars Makes Dreams Come True for Player with Cancer

Everybody dreams in life and wants and tries to have their dreams fulfilled as well, but not everyone is lucky enough to actually make it happen or in other words life is not always kind to bring you in a position where one of your lifelong dreams comes true. Kent Senter, who must have felt on top of the world after having his biggest dream come true especially at a stage in life when he has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.

Two years ago in 2007 Kent found out that he is not going to live for long as he was suffering with terminal cancer and has been fighting for his life since then. He was very fond of Poker and his dream was to play in the World Series of Poker. Patty, his loving wife, did everything she could to make her husband's dream come true. She reached out to Eric Morris the publisher of Bluff Magazine and the best online poker site, PokerStars, in June. All of them worked together and made it possible for Kent to fulfill his dream, by giving him a chance to play Poker and made it to Day 2 of the Main event.

Kent, an amateur poker player, had to undergo a great deal of pain while sitting at the poker table each day. Through Pokerstars Kent, Patty and their two children, flew to Las Vegas where Kent played in the Main Event making it all the way to Day 2 before running into the buzz saw that was Bertrand Grospellier. He made it to the end of Day 2 and although Kent missed the money at the event many people at the WSOP were deeply touched by his story. The USA Today, Associated Press, the local Pittsburgh media and poker trade publications like Bluff covered his story. ESPN also filmed a feature on Kent that will come on air in the September 8th and 14th broadcast.

Patty Senter said she was very grateful and there was no way to thank everyone for what they have done. PokerStars and Bluff had gone above and beyond and did anything they could have possibly done for them. She said a random act of kindness does not even describe what these generous people have done and that this is something she will never forget and will be forever grateful.

PokerStars, the world's largest online poker room, has announced the launch of $10 Re-buy tournament today for helping out Kent Senter, from Pittsburgh. In July, PokerStars sent the whole Senter family to support Kent as he played in the WSOP Main Event. He made a huge impression on those he met and PokerStars is giving back to this man by holding a tournament to take place on September 12, 2009 at 8pm ET that will benefit him and his family befreed from the debt caused by the mounting medical bills.

Senter’s condition has continued to deteriorate since his trip to Vegas, leaving his family in desperate distress. Here's an opportunity for those who are interested in helping the family by playing in a special benefit tournament on Saturday for the Senters on Pokerstars in order to raise money to help pay for Kent's medical bills that have put him and his family into debt.
