The much anticipated Super Bowl XLVI is just days away between two of the best teams in the NFL in Peyton Manning’s Indianapolis Colts and Drew Brees’ New Orleans Saints, but in the two weeks working up to this battle between two great offenses, some serious injuries may have altered the outcome of this Super Bowl which will reportedly will be seen by 100+ million viewers. Throughout the entire NFL regular season this year, the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints were by far the best teams in the league as they were paving the way for what seemed to be two perfect NFL seasons. Over the past couple of seasons, Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints offense were amongst the best in the league and just lit up the scoreboard on a weekly basis to get their wins. There is noth ...

Reggie Wayne hurts knee in Super bowl practice

Posted February 5th, 2010 by Ryan

With the Super Bowl right around the corner, the only thing people seem to be talking about is whether or not Pro Bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney will be good to go on Super Bowl Sunday. Without Dwight Freeney putting constant pressure on New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, the Saints have a serious advantage by have that much more time to throw the football which is exactly what the Saints have done best this season. As of right now, the Indianapolis Colts are saying that Dwight Freeney’s status is questionable after learning that it wasn’t just a sprained ankle and that Freeney actually has a torn ligament in that injured ankle which can take up to eight weeks to fully heal. The news of Freeney’s injury is devastating to the Indianapolis Colts a ...

Dwight Freeney’s impact on the Super Bowl

Posted February 5th, 2010 by Dennis

Super Bowl XLVI between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints is right around the corner and even though everyone has Peyton Manning and company coming out on top in this epic Super Bowl matchup between two great offenses, there have been some things that have happen in the last couple of weeks that might have changed the way this game is played come Super Bowl Sunday. Once the Super Bowl matchup was set, after the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints won their conference championship games against the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings, the spread for the upcoming Super Bowl was announced pretty quickly with the Colts being -5.5 favorites to win the big game in Miami and add another Super Bowl title to Peyton Manning’s legacy in Indianapolis. Not many people coul ...

Brandon Roy to return against the Los Angeles Lakers

Posted February 5th, 2010 by Ryan

It has been another rough season for the Portland Trailblazers as they have once again had to deal with some major injury problems involving some of their best players. Over the last three seasons the Blazers have had to deal with the nightmare of a number one pick going down for the season in consecutive seasons. Greg Oden was a beast in college with Ohio State and taking him with the first pick overall didn’t seem like a terrible decision as the Blazers needed a center so it was somewhat of a no brainer. Unfortunately, Oden went down before the season even started and missed his entire rookie season while number two pick in the Seattle Supersonics Kevin Durant blew up and quickly became one of the best players in the league. In Oden’s second season, the same thing happen only a ...

NBAs Chris Bosh and Amare Stoudemire staying put

Posted February 5th, 2010 by Jeremy

Every single season in the NBA, trade rumors start to fly around when the All-Star break draws near and this season is no different, but this time around there are some pretty big names getting mentioned that might be on the move before the February 18th NBA trade deadline. Perhaps the two biggest names involved in trade rumors this season have been the Toronto Raptors superstar forward Chris Bosh and the Phoenix Suns All-Star forward/center Amare Stoudemire. Over the past couple of months the trade rumor that the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers have been offering their up and coming young center Andrew Bynum and a couple of role players in exchange for Chris Bosh. Of course, as always, the two teams have denied any speculation of the deal going down before the trade deadline, but d ...

Super Bowl XLIV QB Battle: Drew Brees vs Peyton Manning

Posted February 4th, 2010 by Ryan

This NFL season has been absolutely ruled by offense as we have seen some very entertaining high powered offenses like the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints steam roll over their opponents on a weekly basis. Ironically enough, all five of these high powered offenses were able to stand the test of time throughout the NFL regular season and reach the playoffs, but only two of them have been able to get Super Bowl in Drew Brees’ New Orleans Saints and Peyton Manning’s Indianapolis Colts. Even though the Saints and Drew Brees have played as if they are used to the spotlight and playing in big games, they really don’t have that much experienced and will be playing their first Super Bowl in franchise history. Through ...

Can Reggie Bush be the Saints X Factor in Super Bowl

Posted February 4th, 2010 by Ryan

A few years back there was no running back in college football more promising than Heisman trophy winner Reggie Bush of the USC Trojans. On a yearly basis, the USC Trojans led by head coach Pete Carroll were the team to beat in college football as they made opposing defenses look like high school football teams as superstar quarterback and Heisman trophy winner Matt Leinart and running back phenom Reggie Bush just dominated in their high powered offense. Along with the Trojans’ high powered offense, USC had one of the best defenses in the nation and were damn near unstoppable, but it was the amazing plays made by Reggie Bush on a weekly basis that made the headlines and the high reels as it looked like Bush could be the next Barry Sanders s when he made it to the NFL. ...

Peyton Manning on verge of record deal with the Colts

Posted February 2nd, 2010 by Ryan

The San Diego Chargers Philip Rivers got one (six years for $92 million, $39 million guaranteed) and even his brother Eli Manning of the New York Giants got one (six years for $97.5 million dollars, $35 million guaranteed), so why wouldn’t the Indianapolis Colts reward arguably the best quarterback in the NFL with a huge contract extension that will keep him in Indy for the rest of his hall of fame career? A few seasons ago, the Indianapolis Colts superstar quarterback Peyton Manning finally got the one thing in his career that he hadn’t won in a Super Bowl title after beating the Chicago Bears. After winning the Super Bowl the sky was the limit for Peyton Manning, but unfortunately, he missed out on winning a two more titles in the last two seasons as Manning’s brother won ...

Dwight Freeney could miss the Super Bowl

Posted February 1st, 2010 by Ryan

The Super Bowl battle between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints is less than a week away and like always, the game is getting analyzed to death and the injury reports are starting to surface with one injury possibly devastating to the outcome of the Super Bowl on February 7th in Miami, Florida. The Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints have been relatively healthy throughout the NFL season with only a few players getting banged up in the regular season, but despite a few bumps and bruises to players like Anthony Gonzalez and Reggie Bush, the Colts and Saints haven’t had too many problems in the injury department. Even though the Colts will be without wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez and safety Bob Sanders in the Super Bowl, they have had arguably one of their most ...

NBA Power Rankings: Jazz on the rise, Celtics falling fast

Posted February 1st, 2010 by Nathan

#1 Cleveland Cavaliers (38-11) Even though the Cavs are playing without one of their best players in point guard Mo Williams, LeBron James and company have been getting the job done and still own the best record in the NBA right now! With eight straight wins over teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat, the Cavs are damn near unstoppable at this point in the season and will most likely be on the top of the NBA power rankings for quite some time unless the Los Angeles Lakers go on a big tear and start blowing out teams they way they did earlier in the year. #2 Los Angeles Lakers (37-11) A lot of people have been questioning whether or not the Lakers have what it takes to repeat as champs t ...

NBA All-Star East Reserves

Posted January 29th, 2010 by Ryan

Rajon Rondo, Boston Celtics The Boston Celtics aren’t getting any younger as players like Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are arguably on the tail end of their careers in the NBA, but the glue that is holding it all together in Boston is point guard Rajon Rondo who is once again putting up impressive numbers. Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls The Chicago Bulls are having a tough year this season as they try and figure out how to replace the void left by arguably their best player in Ben Gordon leaving in the offseason, but center Joakim Noah and point guard Derrick Rose are keeping the team in contention for a playoff spot and as a result Rose has been awarded with his first All-Star appearance. ...

NBA All-Star West Reserves

Posted January 29th, 2010 by Ryan

Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets Steve Nash was the unanimous pick for the starting point guard spot for the Western Conference and that decision was a no brainer with the surprising success the Phoenix Suns have had this season. The New Orleans Hornets on the other hand are having a down year and might not even make the playoffs, but Chris Paul is playing at a high level despite missing some time earlier in the year and is leading the league in assists. Deron Williams, Utah Jazz The Utah Jazz will only have one member of their squad in the NBA All-Star game this time around as the forward position is stacked and there was no room for Carlos Boozer even though he is putting up good numbers this season. Deron Williams is having a great sea ...

Buffalo Bills want Michael Vick

Posted January 29th, 2010 by Jason

Last season was looked pretty promising during the regular season for the Philadelphia Eagles as they were arguably one of the top five teams in the league with a potent offense full of weapons and a lockdown defense. Despite their impressive run in the second half of the NFL regular season, winning six of their last seven games, the Philadelphia Eagles were able to beat the Dallas Cowboys in the last their last two games and went home early this season. At the beginning if the NFL regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles took a huge gamble by signing troubled quarterback Michael Vick to a two year contract with the second year having an option. In Vick’s first season with the Eagles he earned $1.6 million dollars and if he sticks around for the next season he will earned $5.2 million, ...

Brett Favre return to the Vikings is highly unlikely

Posted January 27th, 2010 by Jeremy

It has been a long and unbelievably successful career for Brett Favre, especially after last season being arguably the best in his 19 year career in the NFL, but it looks like it might all finally be coming to an end as the future hall of fame quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings has said it is “highly unlikely” he will be back in Minnesota for the second year of his two year contract. I know, I know! Whenever Brett Favre says anything these days about retirement it is extremely hard to take him seriously and this time it is no different, but honestly, I believe he will call it quits after getting hammered in the NFC Championship against the New Orleans Saints last week. Personally, I have never seen Brett Favre in so much pain as he came off the field after getting hit by two ver ...

Brandon Marshall Sweepstakes

Posted January 27th, 2010 by Ryan

It is no secret that once again superstar wide receiver Brandon Marshall is no longer happy with the Denver Broncos and wants out while he is playing at the top of his game in the NFL. Much like Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels did with Pro Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler trading him to the Chicago Bears, he will most likely have no problems doing the same with Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall. There is no doubt that Brandon Marshall is one of the most talented wide receivers in the NFL today, but he definitely brings a lot of baggage with him where ever he goes and that is not something a lot of head coaches around the league want to deal with. Even though Marshall does have the attitude of a diva wide receiver, the guy puts up the numbers and can improve a football team. With the Denve ...

AFC Championship Preview: New York Jets at Colts

Posted January 22nd, 2010 by Ryan

The NFL regular season is over and we are basically at the halfway point in the NFL playoffs with only four teams left competing to be the next Super Bowl champion this February in Miami. Of the four teams left, three of them were predicted to still be in contention for a Super Bowl title right now, but one of them has completely defied the odds and is making a case as one of the biggest underdogs in NFL playoff history. The Minnesota Vikings have been a dominated team in the NFL ever since Brett Favre came to town and put on a uniform. The offense is damn near unstoppable with a perfect mix of run and pass and the defense is one of the best in the league right now. So Brett Favre and company making it to the NFC Championship game is no surprise. The New Orleans Saints were arguably the best ...

It has been a long and exciting NFL season, but it isn’t over just yet as we have four teams left fighting for playoff lives to reach the most anticipated football game of the season in the Super Bowl in February in Miami, Florida. Three teams that were predicted to get this far in Brett Favre’s Minnesota Vikings, Drew Brees’ New Orleans Saints and four-time Peyton Manning’s Indianapolis Colts and one huge underdog in Rex Ryan’s New York Jets. Even though the AFC Championship game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Jets will be the classic football matchup with a potent offense going up against a lockdown defense, the NFC Championship game between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints will be an offensive show for the ages with future hall ...
