Las Vegas resident creates history by winning the first Sunday Tournament

Daniel Healey, who lives in Las Vegas, made history, as he became the first poker player to come out as winner of the first real-money, legal, online poker tournament in US.

Healey came out victorious in a tournament, which had 200 players and won the first USD 10,000 Sunday Tournament hosted by Ultimate Poker. He came out of the tournament with first place prize money of USD 4,173.

Joe Versaci, spokesperson from Ultimate Gaming, said to the media that the tournament reached its cap of 200 players in 45 minutes prior to the start of the event.

Looking at the high demand of its USD 10,000 Sunday Tournament, Ultimate Poker is going to double its capacity to 400 players. At the same time, they will double the potential prize money to USD 20,000 as well.

Healey was quite excited to have taken his name into the history books.

He said, “I have stayed updated with the news and different poker blogs, after the Black Friday hit the online casino industry. I was quite excited to hear the fact that legal online poker games have made its way to Nevada.”
