New proposed Illinois Bill gives scope to online gambling

Couple of days following the veto done by Pat Quinn, Governor of Illinois, on the bill, which could have expanded the land-based gambling in the state, Sen. Terry Link has come out with another one.

This bill, sponsored by Terry Link, is going to not only expand the land-based casino in the state, but it will also legalize internet gambling as well. The bill, referred to as the Chicago Casino Deployment Authority Act, is well beyond the city shores.

This bill is going to allow the creation of a new division, which will run online gambling. It is going to be a department operating within the state lottery only. Within its scope, there will be both online poker and other casino games.

Even though the Illinois Lottery is going to be the licensing jurisdiction, other entities would be allowed to offer casino games provided they receive the approval from the State Lottery. The only thing, which will not be allowed, is going to be sports betting. It will be only allowed, if the state as well as the federal laws is going to be changed to give permission to the same.
