There was bad news for the Pennsylvanian casinos, as the report given out by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board stated that the overall revenue generated from slot games during the month of January 2013 went down by more than a percent from where it was last year.
According to the statistics reported by the board, the gross revenue of the month from slot machines at the casinos operating in the state was at USD 188,244,599. This was more than USD 2,000,000 down from the previous figure of USD 190,517,561, which was reported in January 2012.
They also provided the figure of the tax revenue, which was generated from slots for the Commonwealth during the month. It was at USD 101,165,222.
This fall in overall revenue came even after addition of close to 300 slots on the whole in the 11 casinos, as the recorded figure in January 2013 was 26,552 compared to 26,266 recorded in January 2012.
Casinos will be hoping that there would be a turnaround in the coming months and the slots will help them in generating high revenues again.
