Powerball Jackpot: At USD 550 million becomes the largest in Powerball History

On Wednesday, November 28, there is going to be a lot of cash on hands, as a huge amount, USD 550 million, has already been reached by the Powerball Jackpot. The draw for the jackpot will take place on that day. This is going to rewrite history, as the current jackpot amount has already crossed its largest. Before taxes, the cash option is going to be USD 278.3 million.

According to the current figures, as put up by the Multi-State Lottery Association, there has been a remarkable increase in the Powerball Sales in the Arizona State. The state, currently ranked third for the last draw in the increase in Powerball Sales, saw a remarkable rise by 320 percent.

Since this jackpot was started on October 6, the state itself has seen over USD 2.7 millions of prizes being awarded amongst its dwellers. The prize amount included the USD 1 million, which was the second prize, as well as 13 USD 10,000 winning tickets. It is believed that Gilbert’s Fry’s Food Store purchased the winning ticket of USD 1 million. It has been claimed on Monday, November 26, by someone, who, at this moment, wishes to remain anonymous.

Karen Beach, who is Arizona Lottery’s director of products, communications and budget, said, “It is truly exciting for us, as this is the largest amount in the history of the Powerball Jackpot. In case the jackpot rolls beyond Wednesday night, we can expect the amount to easily cross the figure of half a billion dollars.”
