Caesars Entertainment Inc’s partner in couple of Ohio Casinos and Downtown Baltimore’s planned project, Rock Gaming, has made a huge announcement today. They have said that they will be owning a gaming hall in the Detroit Hometown.
Dan Gilbert, who is a businessman from Detroit, controls Rock Gaming. The firm won an approval from the gaming regulators of Michigan for taking over the ownership of Greektown Casino.
By this week’s end, it is expected that Rock Gaming will be taking over the ownership of Greektown Casino, which is one of the three casinos operating in Detroit’s Downtown Area.
Gilbert is already the owner of an NBA team (Cleveland Cavaliers). Quicken Loans is the firm, which he founded sometimes back. He also owns 17 buildings in Downtown Detroit.
While speaking to the press, he said, “Greektown is going to be the key to the vision, which I have for Downtown Detroit Area. I wish to see the area revitalized with more amenities for the residents and the tourists coming here.”
He said, ‘I believe that gambling is one of the prime activities of the downtown area and works as a development magnet. We do not wish to make it a bunker, where we will be looking to keep the people betting there for longer hours. We are looking to maintain a two-way traffic, where we will be pushing people to do businesses and at the same time, attracting them to our casino, whenever they have time.”
