South Point preparing themselves with full force for the Big Day

There are high hopes amongst the management of the South Point Poker that they would become the first online site to be launched legally in Nevada, which will offer real money poker games, anytime. To be prepared for this scenario, the company is recruiting people for filling up several positions. Some of the positions include customer service, regulatory compliance, marketing and technology.

This move for hiring more people comes after couple of other developments, which have taken place in the company, recently. Firstly, their plans of launching an online real money-wagering site has been pushed back to at least year end. They are working with their regulators for completing the technical testing and for finally approving the operational plans. Secondly, they have taken their free gaming site down. This site was launched only a year back and it was done for driving interest in the world of online poker. However, since they are so close of opening a real money site, they do not wish to confuse their customers.

Lawrence Vaughan, who is the COO of South Point Poker, has said that the plans for launching the site hinged most on the luck factor, which has not panned out as expected. These plans were first announced in the month of August, 2012, when the company won the first license for becoming an interactive gaming operator. The start of the site has been held up mainly due to the testing activities with the regulators.

Vaughan said, “We have a feeling that we are ready for this, today only. However, you have got to pass the hurdle of the independent testing labs. Again, you will have to fulfill the needs of the State Gaming Control Board. Since we are going to be the first in the race, we are going to be under the scanner. They are going to prod us in every manner possible. Considering what is at stake, this would be good for us. Since we are going to represent the entire Nevada State, we do not wish to fall flat on our face by coming unprepared. If we do that, we might become an embarrassment for the entire State.”
