Couple of Central California’s impoverished Indian tribes got preliminary approval for becoming the first ones in the entire state for building casinos off the tribal reservations. Many believe that this move should have come a long time back, whereas others are worried that this might lead to a further rise in casinos in the area.
On Tuesday, voters in Maryland gave approval to a new casino, after the state witnessed its most expensive political campaign ever.
There were close to 94 percent of the precincts, which reported for the campaign. Residents of Maryland favored the Question 7 by a vote percentage of 51.6 to 48.4. This measure will make way for placing the casino in the Prince George’s County.
Initially, it did appear that Nevada is going to become the first state in US to provide regulated internet real money gambling services. During the month of August, their regulatory body had granted license to the South Point Hotel and Casino. It was believed that this casino is going to be the first online real money site to function in the state. However, now, GEObet Gambling Network has come out with a press release, according to which they have started to prepare themselves for launching an online site in November itself for the Native American Tribal Casinos.
Once they obtain the license in Nevada, MGM is going to be a step closer towards the online gambling field. And if they do, they would become the part of what is supposed to be one of the lucrative industries of the modern world with the revenue figure expected to reach USD 10 billion annually from 2017. It is expected that this sector is going to attract younger players. At the same time, it will offer new avenues for the growth of the traditional operators, which might have faced the problem of stagnant growth over a considerable period of time.
There was a survey done, where it was discovered that the citizens across many states in US care less about the winner of the presidential poll and more about the setup of online casinos there. And the reason behind their choice is that states like Nevada and New Jersey have already put their regulations on the cards. There are high chances that other states are going to follow the suit and they are going to come up with their regulations too and online gambling might get implemented there any time sooner. Thus, people across the country are eagerly waiting for their turn to gamble online legally.
