Several resorts in Las Vegas are, yet again, looking to hire a number of pool greeters, food servers and mixologists for the coming seven months. They are hiring to accommodate for the pool season that takes place on the Strip.
For many, this will mean coming back to the job that they had last year, where they will be paid a minimum wage and tips (depending upon the generosity of the customer). There will be others, who would be looking at this as an opportunity to make a way in this lucrative hospitality industry and be a part of some of the hottest resorts in Las Vegas.

For some, a net loss of USD 1.21-billion would have meant a lot. However, for the gambling industry in Nevada, this net revenue loss was not so disheartening.
Compared to the previous slump of USD 4 billion in the previous fiscal, the figures have improved manifolds. The 2012 figures were released in the Annual Gaming Abstract, as provided by Gaming Control Board of the state.
Republican pushing for an increase in tax on table games

While speaking to the press, one of the Republican representatives, Brian Newberry, said that he wanted to see the tax levied on different table games to be increased from their current value.
This might come as bad news coming for the gambling industry, in case there is a change in the tax system for table games, especially with the fact that they have been facing considerable loss for a long period now. This increase in tax, if levied, will only pile up the pressure on these casinos and lead to an increment in the revenue loss.
Pennsylvanian Senators questioning inclusion of online gambling and keno to state lottery

Several Pennsylvanian Senate Republicans have mailed a letter to Tom Corbett, Governor of the state.
The letter states that if the Governor will be allowing the state lottery to add online gambling and keno to the mix, it would hurt the state casinos. They want the management contract, which is pending, to be revised before being finalized.

A new nightclub opened up in Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, which will elevate the place’s presence in the nightlife arena. The functioning of the club will start with a mega party in its opening weekend from February 16. This party will involve Paris Hilton, one of the popular international socialites, as she will be hosting the event.
