3G Studios, which is a video game developing company in Reno, Nevada, is going to make a move for online gambling as well. This private company, which previously had only 47 employees based in US, has hired around 80 more employees from China and India. It is also expected that they will be hiring another 200 employees, who will be dedicated in developing gambling games only by the year-end.
3G is jockeying for gambling business and expects most states, which are hungry for generating tax revenue, to open up floodgates for online casinos, which should help gambling companies to make merry.
At this moment, Nevada State is already accepting applications for licenses of online gambling. In June, Delaware State has also become the first state for approving the state residents to play online gambling from the coming year.
Other states including New Jersey and California have been pondering over the possibilities of loosening up the online wagering rules following the long time ban on several types of online betting got reversed by the Department of Justice in December last year.
James Kosta, who is the CEO of 3G Studios, believes that online gambling is going to draw bettors, who were never a part of the betting crowd, similar to how casual games like Angry Birds have attracted new players, who would have never logged on to the World of Warcraft.
Kosta said, “Gambling will fundamentally receive a different outlook. Previously, you had to visit a casino for enjoying your game. Now, it will turn into something that you can enjoy, when you have taken a casual break of few minutes at work.”
