Conditional veto from Chris Christie spreads excitement in online gambling world

Chris Christie, Governor of New Jersey, finally came up with his voice on Thursday for the NJ Gaming Bill. Considered as a minor victory of sorts for the online gaming’s future, he has only given a conditional veto on the bill.

Christie has asked for making minor changes to the online gambling legislation, which will assure that the bill is going to advance next month.

Atlantic Club hoping NJ internet gaming bill to get the nod from

With the deadline coming ever so near for Governor Christie for signing the bill, which will legalize online gambling in New Jersey, there is a sense of urgency seen in one of the smallest casino at the Shore, Atlantic Club.

Rational Group US Holdings, who is currently the parent company of Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars as well as the prospective buyers of the Atlantic Club, are planning for establishing a headquarter here. It is going to be the first case of land-based casino in US merging with an internet gaming company. However, the purchase, which is for an undisclosed amount and still pending for approval from the state regulators, is pretty much hinging on the internet gaming bill becoming a law in the state.

NJ legislation approves beach bars for casino, still hope for online casinos

There was good news for casinos in New Jersey, as the state’s legislation approved a bill, which will give permission to some of them for operating beach bars.

With this bill, the casino, which has opened following August 31, 2011, is going to be allowed to open beach bars. However, the bill is still pending to be approved by Governor Christie.

Pennsylvanian Senators questioning inclusion of online gambling and keno to state lottery

Several Pennsylvanian Senate Republicans have mailed a letter to Tom Corbett, Governor of the state.

The letter states that if the Governor will be allowing the state lottery to add online gambling and keno to the mix, it would hurt the state casinos. They want the management contract, which is pending, to be revised before being finalized.

GTech, which is a subsidiary of Lottomatica, has been caught rigging couple of internet casino games: Hi/Lo Gambler and Reel Deal.

Base code of these games was created by Realistic Games. However, GTech recoded them. After recoding, the games were distributed to numerous reputed casinos online, which include the likes of NordicBet and Betfred. Similar versions of these games were distributed by another company for other internet casino platforms.
